I just listened to this and found it interesting. Funny to think of the church in China in similar ways with the networking of Al Qaida. The one thing that Hirsch should be more vocal or learned about is the Chinese Church's struggle for orthodox doctrine in parallel with the Early Church. It seems that most forget this major problem when they talk about the explosion and huge numbers associated with the growth of the Chinese Church. Numbers like 80 million I think are a bit overblown. The key issue is with the growth of missional communities gathering in small cells and the huge lack of qualified leaders to watch over those groups. This had led to rampant heresy and cult uprising in China.
