Decisiveness vs. Decisions
Fast Company: Decisiveness Generates Momentum
Contrary to popular belief, your decisions don't drive your long term success - your decisiveness does. Said another way, when you reach a crossroads on any issue, the act of choosing creates power, not the choice itself. The issue is momentum. No matter what you choose, when you commit boldly with conviction, you create momentum. When you hesitate you don't. And success is built on momentum.

There can be no arguing the fact that decisions lead to execution. The paralysis of analysis is a dangerous enemy. A mark of a great leader is an ability to encourage a team to make decisions resulting in mobilization. Holding people accountable to make a decision sounds harsh but it might be one of the most important leadership traits when the alternative is considered.

I love this. I'm always amazed by people who can spend days and weeks analyzing issues before they make a decision. I always want to just jump out there and start doing ________. I sometimes wonder if I should take a few more minutes to think things through, but luckily I have people all around me that keep me in check. This way I can move forward, and then they tell me if I'm out of control.
Great stuff...
