1. You're waiting on a bigger staff and more money to accomplish your vision.
2. You think you need to be in charge to have influence.
3. You're content.
4. You tend to foster division instead of generating a helpful dialogue.
5. You think you need to say something to be heard.
6. You find it easier to blame others for your circumstances than to take responsibility for solutions.
7. It's been some time since you said, "I messed up."
8. You're driven by the task instead of the relationships and the vision.
9. Your dreams are so small, people think they can be achieved.
10. No one is following you.

pretty good for the most part...not sure I agree with #3 and 4 though, at least not without some qualifications.

Same here on #3 and #4.
Yes, yes on #9: Your dreams are so small, people think they can be achieved.

No... I'm down with 3 and 4... I understand the way "content" is being used...
When we think we have "arrived" is when we get in trouble.

#2 would make for a great sermon. I think it's important for the "set man" to acknowledge the pillars in the church who are making a positive influence regardless of position. This would fit well under the "How do we measure success" category. I'm not talking about "behind the scenes" volunteers here but church members in any area of service who are making a positive influence in theie department/community.

No 6 stands out. V. good.
I think some of these are a fairly idealistic - #3,4,7,8 could probably be qualified - but nevertheless I think the principles there are fair enough.

I think this list is idealistic, and that it's meant to prod leaders out of non-leading mode and back on track. I find it very helpful personally.

Everything could be qualified. Not just everything on this list...
I'm surprised to hear people saying these are idealistic-- it seems exceptionally earthy to me. Basic. A list of no-brainers...
Steve, I do like you're assessment though. I think there is something to what you're driving after.
